The highest possible quality of service.
The Huntington Fire Department is dedicated to serving and protecting the residents, businesses, and visitors of Huntington with professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment. More than just emergency responders, our members are an integral part of the community—working every day to build trust, enhance safety, and improve quality of life throughout the city.
Operating from 6 strategically located stations, our 95 highly trained professional firefighters provide rapid response to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and hazardous situations. In addition to emergency services, the department places a strong emphasis on fire prevention, public education, and community outreach—partnering with schools, neighborhoods, and local organizations to reduce risk and promote a safer Huntington.
We believe that service extends beyond the emergency call. Whether it’s assisting citizens in times of crisis, supporting community events, honoring our traditions, or preparing for future challenges, the Huntington Fire Department remains committed to being a reliable and visible presence in the community.
Rooted in a proud history that was started in 1897 and guided by modern training, technology, and leadership, we continue to evolve to meet the needs of those we serve. Our mission is simple: to protect lives, preserve property, and stand ready—24 hours a day—for our community.
